De jonge Florian Manuputty (25) wil het ritueel toch uitvoeren, maar wordt gehinderd door zijn vader en grootvader. Mena Muria is het motto dat ze bindt, maar zullen ze de gelederen gesloten kunnen houden?  LAXMI CALLING LING Ling is gedwongen haar straatvrees te confronteren wanneer een Indiase dame haar blijft bellen, omdat zij denk dat zij haar dochter is. Hij praat liever niet over dingen die voorbij zijn. About Love; Mr. & Mrs. Chan gaat over de liefde van een dochter voor haar ouders die een heel ander leven hebben geleid dan hetgeen zijn nu zelf leidt.

Tales from Jakarta Regie: divers (Indonesië 2008) Tales from Jakarta is een compilatie van vijf korte films die het resultaat zijn van de ‘Documentary Cinema Workshop’ (2008/2009). Dit project is een initiatief van het Goethe Instituut, de Jakarta Arts School Council, de Ford Foundation en de Friedrich Naumann Foundation. De korte films gunnen de kijker een blik in het leven van verschillende inwoners van Jakarta die tot de onderste laag van de samenleving behoren. De shorts BOT…PARABOT… en BABI APA AYAM? When 35-year-old Ting asks her elderly father about his memories, the answer she gets is “Blown by the wind.” He’d rather not look back at the past: let bygones be bygones.
