CinemAsia at Home launching this December 29th with Missing (2022)

CinemAsia at Home launches this month on Thursday 29 December at 8pm with the 2022 CinemAsia Competition Grand Jury winner, the Japanese film MISSING さがす by award winning director Shinzo Katayama 片山慎三. For those who missed it at our festival, or would like to see it again, you can enjoy the film on our brand new online film platform starting Thursday 29 December at 8pm exclusively on CinemAsia At Home.

The CinemAsia 2022 Competition Grand Jury consisted of director Wang Xiaoshuai (acclaimed Chinese Sixth Generation film director), Isabel Arrate Fernandez (manager IDFA Bertha Fund) and former IFFR director Emile Fallaux who selected the psychological thriller MISSING as the best competition film in our 2022 festival and issued the following jury statement on the winning film: “Director Shinzo Katayama explores the crime genre from a wholly original perspective, interweaving a grave moral dilemma with a suspenseful crime in a compelling manner. The narrative structure is bold and excels in its ambition, and the ending takes an unexpectedly moving turn. Given that this is a second feature film, we see in the director a very promising future.” – CinemAsia 2022 Grand jury statement on “MISSING.”
