Chen Liang (LU Yulai) has left his native Henan, where he lived with his ill mother and elderly grandmother. Wanting to pursue a new life away from his responsibilities and family pressures to have a respectable career, he decides to move to Japan. However, settling down in a new place isn’t as easy as he thought.

Director

Kei CHIKAURA started a career as a filmmaker in 2013. His second short film, The Lasting Persimmon (2015) was selected for Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival 2016. His third and latest short film, Signature was selected for Locarno International Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival 2017, among many others. It won the Grand Prix at Encounters Film Festival 2017.
