Princess Aya
Princess Aya (BAEK A-yeon) of the Yeonliji Kingdom is born with the rare gift of transformation, which is also her curse. In order to protect herself, she receives a magical bracelet from her mother that helps her to repress transforming into animals. Amidst a war, Aya decides to marry Prince Bari (PARK Jin-young), the enemy, to form an alliance for peace. But in this new kingdom there are new enemies that attempt to conquer her homeland and revoke Prince Bari from the throne. With the help of Prince Bari and a little cat, she tries to unravel the issue and protect their kingdoms.
Depicting the strong vocals of GOT7’s PARK Jin-young and singer and songwriter BAEK A-yeon, Princess Aya reveals a magical story with Korean characteristics. Produced by YEON Sang-ho, director of Train to Busan (2016), the film promises an entertaining time for the entire family.
Director
Known for his award-winning animations, LEE Sung-gang, aka the godfather of Korean animation, debuted with My Beautiful Girl, Mari in 2002, followed by the also acclaimed Yobi, The Five Tailed Fox (2007). After graduating from Yonsei University, Lee started to work in short animations until his debut, which won the Grand Prix at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, making his debut the first Korean animation to win such an award.
