Jota Sosnowski — Screening & Talk / Fundraiser
Saturday 7 March 21:00 — 23:00, Studio/K Sk4
Free Entry

Join us for an evening of curated film excerpts that investigate the intersection of being queer and being an adoptee. The collection will trace the queer adoptee community’s artistic lineage from the late 1980’s to the present day, through excerpts from documentaries, narrative films, and animation. The presentation will include work by: Kimura Byol, Amandine Gay, Jennifer Arndt, and Alex Myung.

This rich uncovered history contextualises the extended sneak peek of Between Goodbyes, a short documentary that follows a queer Korean Adoptee and her birth mother as they struggle through years of separation, fragile reunions, and the process of coming out across cultures. At the end of the event there will be a Q&A with Jota Sosnowski and Mieke Murkes, the filmmakers behind Between Goodbyes.

Doors open at 21:00, the screening will begin promptly at 21:30

The programme is part of a fundraising campaign which will help complete the film! You can donate by purchasing a ticket on the ticket link, but this is optional!
