The discussion will explore what it is like to be in an intercultural relationship, touching on intergenerational relationships and our views on growing old together. How people talk about sex, and their experiences with their first partner from different culture – and if they are with people from the same region. An important part of the discussion will be the preconceptions and misconception people often have of intercultural relationships. Our panelists Bert van Malde (Co-Founder OUT&ABROAD), Chen Thou Lin (Counselling Psychologist at i-psy), Jkung (Social Psychology Student), Grace and Yao (registered couple and working and living in NL) and Ming Xin (PhD Candidate) will discuss how we see marriage and family, and how people presume extended family and how family deals with an in-law from a foreign land. We hope that we can shed some light on these topics and perhaps give our audience some new insights. The panel discussion will be hosted by psychologist Li Zhi.

OUT&ABROAD, is the first organisation catering specifically to the greater Chinese (Sino Cultural) LGBTQIA+ community in the Netherlands also known as the Chinese Diaspora, which offers a social and supportive platform and regularly organise activities and trips, and host events.
