MARIT VAN DEN ELSHOUT

Marit VAN DEN ELSHOUT was head of the IFFR Pro department of the International Film Festival Rotterdam from 2006 to 2022. After IFFR, she worked, among other positions, as Head of Studies for the New Producers Academy. From September 2022 onwards, Marit has been the director of FilmForward, a skills and talent development organisation in the Dutch film and audiovisual sector. Over the years, Marit has acted on several selection committees, including for the Rotterdam Media Fund, the Netherlands Film Fund, the Dutch Cultural Media Fund, and Creative Europe Media. Since January 2024, Marit has acted as president of the board of the European Women’s Audiovisual Network.

 

MARTIN SCHWAB

Martin SCHWAB graduated in 1991 as an actor at the Toneelacademie Maastricht. He took part on stage and in many film and television productions, such as Oeroeg (1993), Onderweg naar Morgen (1994–2010), Baantjer (1995–2006), and Gregory’s Two Girls (1999). Martin started directing in 2002 and made over 150 episodes in several successful Dutch television series, including Flikken Maastricht (2007–), Divorce (2012–2016), and Flikken Rotterdam (2016–). Most recently, he directed the telefilm Pulang (2024).

 

 

WEI SHUJUN

WEI Shujun was born in 1991 in Beijing, China. He started his career as an actor at 14 years old. He completed his master’s degree at the Communication University of China. His films include On the Border (short, 2018, Special Jury Award at Cannes Film Festival), Striding into the Wind (2020, Official Selection, Cannes), and Ripples of Life (2021, Directors’ Fortnight, Cannes). His latest film Only the River Flows (2023) premiered in the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes.
