Part of the screening Made in Korea: A One Way Ticket Seoul-Amsterdam?
As the side programme accompanying Made in Korea: A One Way Ticket Seoul-Amsterdam? (2006), we’ll kick off with a special screening of Dumpling Stories (2024), a VICE documentary about Dutch-Chinese adoptees. Following the films, there will be a panel talk featuring special guests from both documentaries.
Moderated by CinemAsia board member, Shiko BOXMAN, the discussion on transnational adoption will
include filmmaker In-Soo RADSTAKE from Made in Korea, development producer Xiangxia VAN DEN HAM from Dumpling Stories, and the protagonists from each documentary: Nikwi HOOGLAND, founder of Adoptiepedia, and Stephanie Dong-hee KIM from the ARAN Foundation.
